At the time of your check up appointment we can provide you with a personalised hygiene review.

At Green Valley Dental, our experienced team provides a detailed level of care to every patient, making us the trusted dental practice of choice for locals in Green Valley and the surrounding Liverpool area.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should my child first see a dentist?+
We recommend bringing your child for their first visit around their first birthday, or when their first tooth appears. Early visits help familiarise children with the dental environment.
Can I stay with my child during their appointment?+
Absolutely. We welcome parents to stay with their children throughout their appointment. Your presence helps children feel safe and relaxed.
Is my child eligible for CDBS?+
Eligibility is based on age (under 17 years) and whether the child receives certain Australian Government payments. Check eligibility at servicesaustralia.gov.au or ask us when you book.
What if my child has a grey tooth?+
A grey or darkened tooth may indicate the nerve has been damaged, often from an injury. We recommend bringing your child in as soon as you notice it so we can assess the tooth and recommend the appropriate treatment.
Why are baby teeth important?+
Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth and are essential for eating, speaking and smiling with confidence. Caring for them properly sets the foundation for healthy adult teeth.

Aligner & Fixed Braces Orthodontics

Clear aligners and fixed braces — expert orthodontic care for simple to complex cases.

Green Valley Dental offers a full range of orthodontic treatments for teenagers and adults. Whether you need a minor correction or a complex full-arch treatment, our team has the expertise to deliver outstanding results.

Clear Aligner Systems

Our Orthodontist uses a series of virtually invisible, removable clear aligners to gradually move your teeth into the desired position. Each aligner is custom-made to your teeth, and the system is comfortable to wear — making it a popular choice for adults and teens who want a discreet treatment option.

  • Nearly invisible — most people won't notice you're wearing them
  • Removable for eating, drinking and cleaning
  • No dietary restrictions
  • Comfortable — no metal brackets or wires
  • Predictable results with digital treatment planning

Fixed Conventional Braces

Our Orthodontist uses fixed conventional brace systems with revolutionary fixed technology that reduces friction on the teeth, meaning treatment is typically faster, more comfortable, and requires fewer adjustment appointments. Fixed conventional braces are particularly effective for complex orthodontic cases.

  • Suitable for all ages from early teens to adults
  • Highly effective for complex alignment issues
  • Precise control for exceptional results
  • Available in metal and clear (ceramic) brackets

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need orthodontic treatment?+
Signs you may benefit from treatment include crowded, gapped or crooked teeth, difficulty biting or chewing, mouth breathing, or concerns about your smile. Book a consultation and we'll assess your situation.
What age is best to start orthodontic treatment?+
We can assess children from around age 7-8 for early intervention if needed. However, orthodontic treatment is effective at any age — many of our patients are adults.
How long does treatment take?+
Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of your case. Minor corrections may take 6–12 months; more complex cases typically take 18–24 months. We'll give you a personalised estimate at your consultation.
Clear aligners or fixed braces — which is better?+
Both are excellent options. Clear aligners are removable and nearly invisible; fixed braces are often more suited for complex cases. We'll recommend the best option for your specific needs at your consultation.
Do I need a retainer after treatment?+
Yes — retainers are essential after orthodontic treatment to maintain your results. We'll provide you with a custom retainer and advise you on how long to wear it.
Can adults get braces?+
Absolutely. Orthodontic treatment is effective at any age. We have many adult patients who are thrilled with their results. There is no upper age limit for orthodontics.

Dental Implants

Permanent, natural-looking tooth replacement. Free consultation — no obligation.

Dental implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth. They look, feel and function exactly like natural teeth — and with proper care, can last a lifetime.

A missing tooth is not just a cosmetic issue. Without replacement, your jawbone begins to shrink, neighbouring teeth drift, and your bite changes. Dental implants are the only option that stops this process entirely.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

  • Look, feel and function like natural teeth
  • Preserve jawbone — prevent facial sagging
  • No impact on neighbouring teeth
  • Fixed — no slipping, clicking or adhesive
  • Eat anything you want — no restrictions
  • With proper care, implants can last a lifetime

The Implant Process

  • Step 1 — Free Consultation: We assess your suitability, take x-rays and discuss your options with no obligation
  • Step 2 — Treatment Planning: Detailed scans to plan the precise implant position
  • Step 3 — Implant Placement: The titanium post is placed under local anaesthetic (or IV sedation)
  • Step 4 — Healing: 3–6 months for the implant to fuse with your jawbone (osseointegration)
  • Step 5 — Crown Placement: Your natural-looking custom crown is attached

Implant Options

  • Single tooth implants
  • Multiple implants
  • Implant-supported bridges
  • Implant-retained dentures
  • All-on-4 full arch restoration

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I suitable for dental implants?+
Most healthy adults are suitable. Key factors include sufficient jawbone density and healthy gums. Even if you have bone loss, grafting can often create a viable foundation. We'll assess your suitability at your free consultation.
Is the procedure painful?+
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and is generally no more uncomfortable than a tooth extraction. IV sedation is also available. Most patients are surprised by how manageable it is.
How long do implants last?+
The titanium implant itself can last a lifetime with proper care. The crown on top may need replacing after 15–20 years depending on wear.
How long does the full process take?+
From consultation to final crown typically takes 4–9 months — most of which is the healing period. We'll give you a personalised timeline at your consultation.
What does it cost?+
Cost varies depending on your situation. We provide a transparent cost breakdown at your free consultation. We offer Zip, Denticare and Afterpay to spread the cost.
What is the free consultation like?+
A no-pressure conversation with our dentist. We review your dental history, take x-rays, assess suitability, walk you through all options and provide a written cost estimate. No obligation to proceed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my dentures look natural?+
Modern dentures are designed to look completely natural. We work closely with our Prosthetist to ensure your dentures are customised to match your facial features, skin tone and desired appearance.
How long does it take to get dentures?+
After your initial impressions and assessment, most dentures are ready within a few appointments over 2–4 weeks.
Will I be able to eat normally?+
Most patients adapt to eating with dentures within a few weeks. We recommend starting with softer foods and gradually progressing to a normal diet.
How do I care for my dentures?+
Remove and rinse after eating. Brush daily with a soft brush and denture cleaner (not regular toothpaste). Soak overnight to maintain their shape. Attend regular check-ups so we can check the fit.
What are implant-retained dentures?+
Implant-retained dentures clip onto dental implants, providing significantly better stability, comfort and confidence than conventional dentures. Ask us about this option at your consultation.

Home › Services › IV Sedation

IV Sedation

Dental anxiety? IV sedation delivers calm, pain-free treatment. Safe and fully monitored.

IV (intravenous) sedation delivers medication directly into your bloodstream, inducing a deeply relaxed, twilight state. You remain conscious but completely calm and comfortable throughout your treatment — and most patients have little to no memory of the procedure afterwards.

IV sedation is not a general anaesthetic — you breathe on your own and can respond to instructions. It simply removes anxiety and discomfort so your dentist can work efficiently and you can receive the care you need.

Who is IV Sedation For?

  • Patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety
  • Patients requiring complex or lengthy procedures
  • Patients with a strong gag reflex
  • Patients who have had traumatic dental experiences in the past
  • Patients who want to complete multiple treatments in one visit

Before Your Appointment

  • Fast for 6 hours before your appointment
  • Arrange a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for 24 hours
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing with short or rolled-up sleeves
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before
  • Inform us of all current medications

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be unconscious?+
No. IV sedation is not a general anaesthetic. You will be in a twilight state — deeply relaxed and comfortable, able to respond to instructions, but with little awareness or memory of the procedure.
Does the needle hurt?+
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied before the needle is placed, so most patients feel very little discomfort. Once the sedation begins, you will feel calm and relaxed almost immediately.
Is IV sedation safe?+
Yes. IV sedation is very safe when administered by a trained dental professional. Your vital signs are monitored throughout the procedure. We will review your medical history beforehand to ensure you are a suitable candidate.
How long does the sedation take to wear off?+
Most patients feel back to normal within a few hours, though you may feel drowsy for the rest of the day. You must not drive, operate machinery or make important decisions for 24 hours after sedation.
What treatments can be done under sedation?+
Almost any dental treatment can be performed under IV sedation, including complex extractions, implant placement, root canals, and multiple fillings in a single appointment.

Emergency Dental Care

Same-day emergency appointments — including Saturdays. Don't suffer in pain.

🚨 Dental Emergency?
We aim to see you the same day you call — Mon–Fri 9AM–6:30PM · Sat 9AM–3PM
📞 Call Now: (02) 9825 0092

Dental emergencies are frightening and painful. At Green Valley Dental, we understand that when you're in pain, you need help immediately — not in a week. That's why we reserve emergency appointment slots every single day, including Saturdays.

Call us as soon as possible and our team will do everything we can to get you seen on the same day.

Dental Emergencies We Treat

🦷
Severe Toothache

Throbbing pain that won't go away — often a sign of infection. Call us immediately.

💔
Broken or Cracked Tooth

Broken teeth can be sharp and painful. Save any fragments in milk or water.

⚠️
Knocked-Out Tooth

Time critical — you have 30–60 minutes. Store the tooth in milk and call immediately.

🤢
Dental Abscess

Facial swelling, fever or difficulty swallowing. This is serious — call or go to hospital.

😮
Lost Filling or Crown

Exposed teeth can be very sensitive. We'll see you quickly to replace it.

🩹
Soft Tissue Injuries

Cuts to gums, lips or tongue that won't stop bleeding need urgent attention.

What To Do Right Now

1
Call Us Immediately

Call (02) 9825 0092 — we reserve same-day emergency slots every day. The earlier you call, the sooner we can see you. Open Mon–Fri 9AM–6:30PM and Saturday 9AM–3PM.

2
Manage Pain While You Wait

Take over-the-counter pain relief (ibuprofen or paracetamol) as directed on the packaging. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. Do NOT place aspirin directly on the gum — it can burn the tissue.

3
If Your Tooth Is Knocked Out — Act Fast

Handle the tooth only by the crown — never touch the root. Rinse gently with milk or water (do not scrub). Try to reinsert into the socket. If not possible, store the tooth in milk or tucked between your cheek and gum. Get to us within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth.

!
When to Go Straight to Hospital

If you have facial swelling that is spreading, difficulty breathing or swallowing, high fever, or feel very unwell — go to hospital emergency immediately. These can be signs of a spreading infection that is life-threatening.

🚨 In pain right now? Call (02) 9825 0092 — we aim to see you the same day. Open Mon–Fri 9AM–6:30PM and Saturday 9AM–3PM.
