Process of Receiving New Dentures:

Appointment 1:

The first thing the Dentist will do is examine your mouth in order to choose the appropriate treatment plan for you. The dentist will then take impressions of your mouth using a putty-like material.

Appointment 2:

During this appointment, the Dentist will take a second impression to create an exact replica of the soft tissues and/or teeth.

Appointment 3:

During this appointment, the Dentist will take a bite registration which will determine the relationship between the upper and lower jaw of the mouth.

Appointment 4:

During this appointment, the Dentist will have a cosmetic try-in of your teeth in wax which allows both the patient and the Dentist to make any necessary changes (eg: size, shape and colour).

Appointment 5:

During this appointment, the Dentist will issue the completed denture to the patient. Adjustments may be made at this appointment if necessary.

Appointment 6:

Our Dentist will ask you to return to assess your progress. If there are any problems, small adjustments may have to be made to rectify any lingering issues. This is to be expected and it’s nothing to be worried about. The discomfort will eventually diminish as your mouth and the muscles of your tongue and cheek adjust to the new denture.
